Job summary

Our House, Inc is seeking a Resident Specialist to help ensure the safety of residents and the security of the shelter, while supporting food service and maintaining cleanliness. The role acts as a liaison between residents and staff, requiring empathy, strong communication, and dependable record-keeping.

Responsibilities include monitoring the facility, enforcing policies, assisting with meals, and documenting incidents.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years in a residential program or social services setting preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification and ServSafe certification will be provided by Our House.

Responsibilities

• Supervise shelter operations during shifts to ensure resident safety.
• Conduct facility walkthroughs and monitor resident entry/exit for security.
• Maintain nightly logs and enforce shelter rules consistently.
• Respond to emergencies and notify Shelter Director as needed.
• Assist with meal preparation and distribution to meet residents' nutritional needs.
• Document shift activities and incidents accurately.
