Job summary

Community Teamwork is seeking Residential Counselors to support families in a congregate emergency shelter in Lowell, MA. You will provide life skills assistance, enforce safety rules, and apply trauma-informed, client-centered approaches to daily operations.

Shifts include Day, Evening, and Overnight with a $3.00 per hour differential for overnight work. The role offers a pay range of $20.59–$21.21 per hour and full-time hours (40 per week).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent education is required.
• Strong customer service and communication skills are essential.
• Good crisis management abilities and attention to detail are important.
• Proficient with basic computer software and data collection.

Responsibilities

• Assist in screening, intake activities and orientation of new families.
• Help clients stay compliant with program expectations under supervision.
• Oversee site safety and conduct routine interior/exterior checks during shifts.
• Maintain shift logs and assist with day-to-day life skills.
• Document incidents and safety issues using the program system.
• Ensure cleanliness and perform housing keeping duties.
• Coordinate events and workshops with staff and volunteers.
• Prepare client orientation for new arrivals and maintain orderly work areas.
