Job summary

Community Teamwork in Lowell, MA is seeking a part-time Residential Counselor to support residents in a congregate shelter. You will provide life skills guidance and help maintain a safe, trauma-informed environment for guests.

Responsibilities include enforcing rules, completing intakes, coordinating with staff, and documenting appropriately, with a focus on equity, integrity and compassion to empower individuals to improve their housing stability and well-being across shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent education required.
• At least 1 year of experience in social services (preferably with low income individuals).
• Excellent customer service, organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent crisis management skills.
• Proficient computer skills in basic software and data collection.
• Good attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Residential Counselor

Part time: Every other Saturday and Sunday 8AM-4PM

Pay Range $20.59 to $21.21 per hour

Position Summary

This Residential Counselor will work in our Shelter Staff program and will be responsible for working closely with clients in a congregate emergency residential shelter site, to provide life skills support to individuals who are staying at the shelter. This position also provides oversight of site operations, which include enforcing safety measures, program rules, and expectations using a trauma-informed and client-centered approach.

• Ensure the safety of guests and the site
