Job summary

S:US in Manhattan seeks a Program Coordinator to manage daily operations of a women’s shelter, ensuring compliance with city, state, and federal requirements and DHS contracts. The role includes overseeing clinical services and supervising social workers, case managers, and housing specialists.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree in the human services field with 3–5 years of supervisory shelter experience and the ability to work some weekends and evenings.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in the human services field is required.
• Three to five years of supervisory experience in a large shelter or residential facility that provides comprehensive social services, housing placement, and job skills training to the homeless, mentally ill, and chemically dependent populations.
• A work schedule that includes some weekend and evening hours will be required.

Responsibilities

• Plans, schedules, organizes, directs, and oversees the provision of all clinical services.
• Provides supervisory oversight and training to the Social Workers, Case Managers and Housing Specialist.
• Oversees coordination among Case Managers, Entitlements Specialists, Social Workers and Housing Specialist for services and referrals.
• Monitors daily census reports.
• Develops groups, workshops, and activities to foster consumer self-sufficiency and wellness.
• Oversees caseload assignments, group and activity facilitation, housing and job placements, and referrals.
• Maintains documentation for quality and timely completion and Individual Living Plans.
