Job summary

S:US is seeking a Program Coordinator for their women's shelter in Manhattan. You will manage daily program operations of a mental health shelter and ensure compliance with city, state, and federal requirements and DHS contracts.

The role includes supervising social workers, case managers and housing staff, coordinating services, and developing groups to support recovery, daily living skills and employment readiness.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in the human services field is required.
• Three to five years of supervisory experience in a large shelter or residential facility that provides comprehensive social services, housing placement, and job skills training to the homeless, mentally ill, and chemically dependent populations.
• Work schedule includes some weekend and evening hours.

Responsibilities

• Plans, schedules, organizes, directs, and oversees the provision of all clinical services.
• Provides supervisory oversight and training to the Social Workers, Case Managers and Housing Specialist.
• Ensures collaboration between Case Managers, Entitlements Specialists, Social Workers and Housing Specialist.
• Monitors daily census reports and program effectiveness; ensures compliance with DHS contracts and regulatory requirements.
• Develops groups, workshops, and recreational activities to foster recovery and daily living skills.
• Maintains documentation and oversees incident management, case plans, and referrals.
