Job summary

Westhab Inc. in Bronx, NY is seeking a Program Director to oversee a 179-bed shelter for homeless men. The role focuses on day-to-day administration, program accountability, and ensuring service goals are met or exceeded.

Responsibilities include leading management staff, coordinating services (case management, vocational services, housing placement), and ensuring regulatory compliance with DHS and OTDA standards. This is a full-time, on-site senior management position.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree preferred; Bachelor’s degree required in human services or related field.
• At least 4 years supervisory experience operating a DHS shelter is preferred.
• Strong administrative skills and understanding of residential operations; knowledge of OTDA and DHS regulations required.

Responsibilities

• Oversees all program operations to ensure success of the program in meeting client needs.
• Ensures compliance with DHS outcomes regarding placements, long term stayers, placement retention, facility standards, and Westhab’s performance and quality assurance measurements.
• Oversees process, census, vocational services, case management, facilities and housing placement services.
• Hires and reviews performance of all management staff.
• Ensures operations follow regulatory requirements (State OTDA / DHS / Westhab).
• Provides leadership and direction to management staff, including Director of Social Services, Facility Manager, Security Manager, and permanent housing placement staff ensuring support is in place to ensure the success of the shelter.
• Interfaces with the community, neighborhood associations and other local service providers.
• On call 24/7
• Other duties as assigned.
