Job summary

HELP USA INC. in Bronx, NY is seeking a Program Director for Serenity, a DHS-funded 52-bed transitional shelter serving single adult men, to oversee all shelter operations, ensure quality service delivery, program compliance, and the effective day-to-day functioning of the facility.

You will recruit, train, and supervise staff; develop a supportive environment to retain skilled workers; manage budgets; track outcomes; ensure safety and cleanliness; and coordinate with community partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field required.
• Master’s degree preferred for leadership role.
• Minimum five years of management/supervisory experience.
• Experience in residential or shelter-based environment is highly valued.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day program operations and ensure quality service delivery.
• Ensure DHS program compliance and proper documentation.
• Recruit, orient, supervise, and develop staff; provide training.
• Maintain safety, cleanliness, and routine facility maintenance coordination.
• Manage budgets, track expenses, and support reporting.
