Job summary

The Salvation Army's Family Haven Shelter in St. Louis seeks a Program Director to lead shelter operations, staff development, and policy implementation across Emergency Shelter, Transitional Housing, and Permanent Supportive Housing.

You will ensure compliance with contracts, coordinate with funders, and drive trauma-informed, client-centered care. The role requires at least a master’s in social work and 3+ years in residential services with supervisory experience; strong communication and

Master’s degree in Social Work or related field.
Minimum of three years’ experience in residential services.
Three years’ supervisory experience.
Proficiency in computer applications.
Ability to manage multiple projects independently and uphold confidentiality.

Responsibilities

Direct and develop shelter programs including Emergency Shelter, Transitional Housing, Permanent Supportive Housing, and more.
Monitor program goals and contractual obligations, implementing strategies for goal attainment and compliance.
Oversee support services, activities, classes, and advocacy efforts for shelter residents.
Liaise with funders for compliance and participate in reviews and evaluations.
Ensure dignity in service delivery through trauma-informed care and strength-based case management.
Supervise Residential Services Supervisor, Residential Life Supervisor, and Residential Youth Coordinator.
