Job summary

The Salvation Army Midland Division Harbor House Shelter in Columbia, Missouri seeks a Shelter Director to coordinate and operate the Harbor House program, including development, implementation, and supervision; grant writing and management; staff recruitment, development and supervision; fiscal management; and physical plant oversight.

This full-time position offers starting pay at $60,000 per year and requires extensive leadership, budgeting, and community networking to ensure quality services

Qualifications

• BA or BS degree in social work, psychology, or related field with four years' work experience in human service delivery, administration, or management with progressive levels of responsibility, including supervisory and fiscal accountability and/or property management.
• Two years of experience in substance use treatment or recovery programming or CRAADC Counselor I certification or above.
• Team player, self-starter, and able to perform with minimum supervision.
• Understanding of and experience with fiscal reports and processes.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and operate Harbor House with program development, implementation, and supervision.
• Oversee grants writing, management, and reporting for funders and the community.
• Recruit, develop, supervise, and train Harbor House staff to high standards.
• Assist in annual budget development and monitor income/expenses against budget.
• Network with community organizations to expand Harbor House services and partnerships.
