Job summary

The Salvation Army Midland Division Harbor House Shelter in Columbia, Missouri, seeks a Shelter Director to coordinate and run the Harbor House program, including development, implementation, supervision, grant writing, and fiscal management.

This full-time position requires a BA/BS in a related field with four years of leadership experience in human services, strong budgeting skills, and the ability to manage staff and partners.

Qualifications

• Requires a BA or BS degree in social work, psychology, or related field, plus four years’ progressive work experience in human services or management.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and operate Harbor House program, including development, implementation and supervision of services.
• Oversee grants and reporting, budgeting, and fiscal management.
• Recruit, develop and supervise staff; ensure high standards of care and program quality.
• Network with community partners to expand services and secure funding.
• Prepare timely documentation and statistical reports for The Salvation Army and funders.
• Maintain confidential records and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Lead program development on recovery topics, life skills, housing maintenance, and family reunification.
