Job summary

Family Haven Shelter in St. Louis, MO seeks a Program Director to lead daily shelter operations, staff development, and policy implementation. The role oversees Emergency Shelter, Transitional Housing, and Permanent Supportive Housing while ensuring 24/7 coverage and programmatic compliance.

The Director will drive trauma-informed care, collaborate with funders, and manage program performance, reporting, and community partnerships to advance housing justice.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work or related field.
• Minimum of three years’ experience in residential services.
• Three years’ supervisory experience.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Ability to manage multiple projects independently and uphold confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Direct and develop shelter programs including Emergency Shelter, Transitional Housing, Permanent Supportive Housing, and more.
• Monitor program goals and contractual obligations, implementing strategies for goal attainment and compliance.
• Oversee support services, activities, classes, and advocacy efforts for shelter residents.
• Liaise with funders for compliance and participate in reviews and evaluations.
• Provide de-escalation, crisis intervention, and conflict mediation as needed.
• Supervise Residential Services Supervisor, Residential Life Supervisor, and Residential Youth Coordinator.
• Manage hiring, onboarding, training, supervision, and evaluation of shelter program staff.
• Coordinate data collection and reporting for contracts and quality assurance.
• Attend relevant meetings and collaborate with partner organizations.
• Assist Shelter Administrator in budget development and facility tours.
