Job summary

The Eli Home in Anaheim, CA is seeking a compassionate Shelter Program House Manager to oversee day-to-day operations of our shelter, ensuring a safe, structured environment for residents and families. You will supervise staff, coordinate intake and case management with program staff, and uphold trauma-informed policies while responding to crises with calm and clear intervention.

Qualifications

  • Leadership and supervisory experience in residential or shelter settings.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
  • Strong knowledge of trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, and de-escalation techniques.
  • CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily shelter operations, ensuring a safe and supportive living environment for residents.

In this vital role, you\'ll oversee the day-to-day operations of our shelter program, ensuring a safe, supportive, and structured environment for those we serve.   • Oversee daily shelter operations, ensuring a safe and supportive living environment for residents

  • Supervise, mentor, and support shelter staff and volunteers during assigned shifts

  • Manage resident intake, orientation, and case coordination in collaboration with program staff

  • Enforce shelter policies, procedures, and house rules while maintaining a trauma-informed approach

  • Respond to resident crises, conflicts, and emergencies with appropriate intervention and de-escalation techniques

  • Maintain accurate documentation, incident reports, and resident records in compliance with program standards

  • Coordinate with social workers, case managers, and community resources to support resident needs

  • Conduct regular facility inspections to ensure cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness


Requirements:


  • Preferred: 2 years of experience in shelter management, residential programs, or social services

  • Preferred: Experience working with vulnerable populations including survivors of abuse, trauma, or homelessness

  • Preferred: Strong knowledge of trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, and de-escalation techniques

  • Preferred: Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience in a residential or shelter setting

  • Required: Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)

  • Must pass a background check in accordance with program and state requirements
