Job summary

Elmcor Youth & Adult Activities Inc. seeks a Shelter Program Director to oversee program operations and staff, ensuring safety, stability, and empowerment for residents. The role includes directing services, coordinating staffing, and managing resources to meet program goals.

The position reports to the VP of Behavioral Health Services, requires strong leadership and collaboration with community partners, and demands flexibility to address emergencies and staffing shortages.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Business Management, Humanities, Psychology, Human Services and 2 years of experience.
• Knowledge of Human Resources policies.
• Outstanding communication skills for working with operations staff.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily program operations and administration across all program areas.
• Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and provide leadership to staff; coordinate professional development.
• Develop, implement, and monitor person-centered programming and service plans addressing residents’ needs.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and program requirements; manage incident follow-up and community relationships.
