Job summary

St. Vincent de Paul Society of San Francisco is seeking a Temporary Program Aid for the Swing Shift (4:00pm–12:30am) at the MSC in San Francisco. The role supports the Drop-In Center, monitors residents, provides resources, and helps ensure safety.

This full-time, non-exempt position ends January 1, 2027, with a starting wage of $24.48 per hour. A high school diploma, strong English communication, and the ability to work under pressure are required.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent is required.
• Proficient in English communication, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work with clients in challenging situations.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and follow procedures.
• Experience with data entry and basic software.
• Commitment to the organization’s mission and values.

Responsibilities

• Provide resource and referral information for clients.
• Ensure respectful and courteous treatment of all clients at all times.
• Monitor and control activities in the Shelter and Drop In Center for safety.
• Carry protective gloves and use them as appropriate.
• Follow rules in the Shelter's operations manual.
• Adhere to Standards of Care per City/County legislation.
• Use CHANGES software to record client data.
• Make area checks as assigned.
• Distribute and collect blankets and towels.
• Monitor meal lines and supervise meal areas.
• Maintain cleanliness of bed and work areas and restrooms.
• Attend monthly all-staff meetings.
• Perform other appropriate duties as assigned.
