Job summary

St. Vincent de Paul Society of San Francisco is seeking a Program Aid for the Swing Shift (4:00 pm to 12:30 am) at the Multi-Service Center in San Francisco. The role supports shelter operations, safety, and resident resources, with a starting hourly wage of $24.48 and a comprehensive benefits package.

The position requires a high school diploma, solid English communication, and the ability to work with homeless and vulnerable individuals. CPR/First Aid and background check conditions apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Good communication skills in English (verbal and written).
• Experience with homeless populations or crisis situations preferred.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and data entry.
• Ability to work under pressure and in crisis situations.
• Proficiency in data entry and basic software.

Responsibilities

• Provide resource and referral information for clients.
• Treat all clients with respect and courtesy.
• Monitor shelter and drop-in center safety and activities.
• Carry gloves and use as appropriate.
• Follow shelter operations manual rules and standards of care.
• Record client data in CHANGES software.
• Perform area checks and maintain cleanliness.
• Attend monthly all-staff meetings.
• Other duties as assigned.
