Job summary

St. Vincent de Paul Society of San Francisco is currently seeking a Temporary Program Aid for the Swing Shift at the Multi-Service Center in San Francisco. The role supports the daily shelter operations, monitors residents, and provides resources to clients in a fast-paced environment.

The position is full-time, non-exempt, temporary, with a 4:00pm–12:30am schedule and a starting hourly wage of $24.48. Background checks, CPR/First Aid, and vaccination requirements apply; sick leave accrual

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Good English communication, both verbal and written.
• Experience working with homeless, indigent, alcoholic, mentally ill, or unemployed individuals.
• Ability to maintain accurate records.
• Ability to work under pressure and in crisis situations.

Responsibilities

• Provide resource and referral information for clients.
• Treat all clients with respect and courtesy at all times.
• Monitor and control activities in the Shelter and Drop In to ensure safety.
• Carry protective gloves and use them as appropriate.
• Follow the Shelter's operations manual rules and procedures.
• Record client data using CHANGES software.
• Perform area checks and ensure cleanliness of bed and work areas.
• Attend monthly all-staff meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
