Job summary

BRC in New York is seeking a Community Liaison to ensure compliance with the Good Neighbor Policy and to provide direct outreach, escort, and referral services for clients and homeless individuals during shifts. The role includes supervising Front Door Community Technicians to maintain safe, 24-hour shelter operations.

You will record statistics, recognize signs of mental health and substance use, and connect people with available services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with two years of relevant experience in mental health/substance abuse and community work.
• High school diploma with six years of related experience; at least one year supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure clients comply with the agency's Good Neighbor Policy; provide outreach, escort, and referral services for clients and homeless individuals during shift.
• Supervise Front Door Community Technicians to ensure safety and 24-hour shelter operation.
• Record and maintain accurate statistics on individuals approached and referred.
• Recognize signs of mental health and substance abuse; gain knowledge of available services.
• Monitor client behavior inside and outside the facility; counsel clients accordingly.
• Lead community relations by engaging with residents and businesses daily to address concerns.

Education

Bachelor's degree in any related field with two years of experience in mental health/substance abuse and community work
