Job summary

The Community Liaison at BRC provides direct outreach, escort, and referral services for clients and homeless individuals during the shift. The role also supervises Front Door Community Technicians to ensure a safe, 24-hour shelter operation.

It requires recording accurate statistics, recognizing signs of mental health and substance abuse, and guiding clients to appropriate services. Daily outreach to residents and businesses addresses community concerns.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus two years of relevant experience in mental health or substance abuse population or related community work; Supervisory experience preferred.
• High school graduation or equivalent with six years of related experience; Supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct outreach, escort, and referral services for BRC clients and homeless individuals.
• Supervise Front Door Community Technicians to ensure safety and 24-hour shelter operation.
• Record and maintain accurate statistical data on individuals approached and referred.
• Recognize signs and symptoms of mental health and substance abuse; gain knowledge of services.
• Monitor client behavior inside and outside the facility and counsel as needed.
• Engage with residents and local businesses to address community concerns.
