The Shelter Manager at Porchlight, Inc. in Madison, WI oversees daily operations of the Porchlight Men's Shelter, ensuring a safe, low-barrier emergency shelter for adult men experiencing homelessness.

You supervise staff across shifts, manage scheduling, and coordinate with case management and community partners. This full-time role requires strong leadership, crisis intervention skills, and the ability to work nights (4pm–12am) and on-call coverage.

Formación

• Strong leadership and staff supervision skills.
• Strong communication, organization, conflict-resolution and crisis management skills.
• Ability to work respectfully with diverse populations experiencing homelessness.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and participate in on-call coverage.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, or related field (preferred).
• Training in trauma-informed care, de-escalation, motivational interviewing, CPR/First Aid, and Narcan administration (preferred).

Responsabilidades

• Directly supervise Shift Supervisors and other assigned staff with coaching and feedback.
• Assist in hiring and onboarding; support training needs.
• Create biweekly schedules and ensure coverage for all shifts.
• Manage on-call coverage and act as on-call resource.
• Review staff time in iSolved each pay period.
• Address performance concerns with HR and leadership.
• Facilitate monthly shelter staff meetings and shift briefings.
• Oversee shelter operations across shifts and ensure policy compliance.
• Coordinate intake, bed assignments, and facility access with staff.
• Collaborate on case management and Coordinated Entry processes.
• Maintain accurate daily records, logs, and incident reports.
• Coordinate supplies and vendor services for operations and facility needs.
• Coordinate food service with Kitchen team.
• Review and revise shelter policies based on feedback and data.
