Job summary

St. Vincent de Paul seeks a Shift Supervisor to oversee daily shelter operations, supervise staff and guests, and coordinate intake/discharge processes with a focus on safety and dignity.

You will partner with case managers to ensure residents receive essential services. Responsibilities include scheduling, crisis intervention support, and collaboration with program staff to promote stability and self-sufficiency for guests.

Qualifications

• High school Diploma or GED is required.
• 2 years’ experience working with, and sensitivity to, persons who are homeless or low-income, with focus on women and children/families.
• Experience in crisis intervention, behavior management, and/or conflict resolution.
• Ability to be comfortable working with persons of all socioeconomic, religious, and ethnic backgrounds in a non-judgmental manner.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day supervision and oversight for program operations and staff scheduling.
• Coordinate supportive services and ensure guest participation in life skills, job readiness, and parenting classes.
• Assist with new guest intakes, room assignments, and HMIS data entry; facilitate move-out for exiting guests.
• Monitor attendance, bed utilization, and on-call staff coverage; maintain shift coverage lists.
• Conduct regular supervision meetings with staff and resolve conflicts.
• Represent St. Vincent de Paul in external meetings and events as needed.
