Job summary

Iron County Care & Share seeks a Shelter Monitor to oversee evening and night operations, assist with intake, answer phones, and ensure meals are prepared and served. Responsibilities include maintaining a safe, clean facility, logging client services, and coordinating with supervisors and case managers.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, basic computer skills, and a compassionate approach to clients experiencing poverty and homelessness.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal skills to manage clients with mental and physical challenges.
• Experience cooking and preparing nutritious meals.
• Working knowledge of computers and email programs; Microsoft 365 preferred.
• Understanding and empathy for those who suffer poverty and homelessness.
• Ability to follow directions from supervisors.
• High School diploma or GED, or equivalent experience.
• General computer literacy and typing skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency shelter coverage and care for clients.
• Prepare meals and maintain kitchen cleanliness.
• Keep facility clean, wash linens, and complete daily chores; maintain records.
• Maintain logs of services and communicate shift notes to the next shift.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
