Job summary

Salvation Army Corp is seeking a Shelter Monitor to manage residential operations in a COH program, including intake processing, daily logs, and ensuring residents depart by curfew. The role requires strong communication, calm handling of emergencies, and adherence to shelter policies.

Responsibilities include assisting clients with information, coordinating laundry services, and directing clients to appropriate agencies.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience in security or social service preferred.
Knowledge of general office procedures and record keeping practices.
Ability to communicate effectively with clients to manage behavior and expectations.
Ability to work with the public and handle diverse situations calmly and professionally.
Reading, writing, and communicating in English are required.

Responsibilities

Residential Monitoring duties including ensuring rooms are in order and resident intake prep.
Turn away ineligible clients and refer to other shelters when needed.
Input daily HMIS and maintain computer records and client lists.
Wake residents and ensure they are out of the housing facility by the designated time.
Assist clients with information and families with laundry services as scheduled.
Participate in staff training and perform other related duties as assigned.
