Job summary

Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Washington is seeking a Shelter Monitor for the Angel's Watch shelter to help maintain a safe, welcoming environment for guests experiencing homelessness. You will conduct intakes, log incidents, and support daily shelter operations.

Under the Shelter Program Supervisor, you will de-escalate conflicts using trauma-informed approaches, enforce guidelines, and coordinate with case management and partners to ensure a dignified shelter experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Six months experience in human services or customer service, preferably with persons who are homeless.
• Basic computer skills in MS Office and Windows; willingness to be trained.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily shelter activities and ensure safety and rule compliance.
• Complete guest intakes and maintain bed occupancy records.
• Submit incident reports and document shift handoffs.
• Provide trauma-informed, compassionate support and connect guests with services.
