Job summary

Community Outreach, Inc. is hiring a Social Services Assistant to supervise transitional shelter clients, ensure COI rules are followed, and coordinate with community partners.

The role includes responding to requests for services, supervising shelter operations, maintaining records, and supporting case managers. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, be detail-oriented, dependable, and able to pass a state background check.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent is required.
• Detail oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent dependability and communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and pass a state background check.

Responsibilities

• Respond to requests for food boxes, housing screenings, messages, mail and other services.
• Supervise shelter facilities inventory, sleeping areas, kitchens, bathrooms, and storerooms.
• Interact with clients professionally, maintaining dignity and self-esteem.
• Coordinate with COI staff and community partners; conduct administrative duties.
• Document client information, progress notes, and program reports.
• Provide case managers and therapists with relevant client information.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and secure facility; attend shelter events and meetings.
• Perform other duties as required.
