Job summary

Central Arizona Shelter Services, Inc. is seeking a dedicated full‑time Shelter Associate to maintain a safe, orderly environment and assist individuals experiencing homelessness toward housing stability.

You will handle client intakes, provide resources, and document interactions in HMIS while supporting shelter operations across shifts. Ideal candidates are organized, can multi‑task in a fast‑paced setting, and may be bilingual in English and Spanish.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• State of Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card is required or must be obtained.
• Proficiency in data entry and Microsoft Word/Excel.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
• Willingness to perform a variety of duties as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct client support and excellent customer service.
• Complete new client intakes and explain agency policies.
• Enter relevant data in HMIS and maintain client files.
• Assist with shelter operations, safety, and supply management.
• Coordinate with other departments and outside agencies.
• Assist in donations receipt and distribution; maintain supplies.
• Escalate urgent issues to leadership when needed.
