Job summary

Central Arizona Shelter Services, Inc. (CASS) is seeking dependable Shelter Support Staff to maintain a safe, welcoming environment for individuals and families overcoming homelessness.

You will interact with clients, coworkers, vendors, and community partners, providing professional and respectful service at all times. Responsibilities include safety walks across three floors, distributing hygiene items, checking clients in for beds, aiding meal service, and data entry in HMIS.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Comfortable working in a multi-level shelter setting.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Able to engage with individuals from diverse backgrounds with professionalism.
• Capable of lifting up to 25 pounds occasionally.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct hourly safety walks across three floors of the facility.
• Provide hygiene products and basic-needs items to clients.
• Check clients into the shelter and reserve beds for the next 24 hours.
• Assist with meal distribution.
• Enter relevant data in HMIS and maintain shelter files.
• Prepare Incident Reports and other reports as needed.
• Provide excellent customer service to clients, coworkers, vendors, visitors, and partners.
• Maintain professional boundaries and treat individuals with dignity.
