Position Overview:

The Shelter Intake Specialist serves as a frontline staff member responsible for guest intake, assessment, data management, and operational support across all shelter areas. This position ensures accurate documentation, thorough guest assessment, and appropriate service coordination through comprehensive interviews, trauma-informed engagement, and proficient use of the City’s Homeless Management Information System (HMIS). Shelter Intake Specialists maintain a welcoming, professional presence while managing critical data entry and guest services primarily during day shifts.
