Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a part-time shelter support staff in Warren, MI. Responsibilities include supervising guests, overseeing common areas, and completing paperwork to ensure a safe, harmonious shelter atmosphere.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, experience with confidentiality, and familiarity with Microsoft Office 365, TEAMS, and SharePoint. Valid driver's license and Safe From Harm training are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma / GED or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee shelter common areas, dorms, lounges, clothing closet and laundry room
• De-escalate conflicts and manage crises; maintain clear verbal and written communication
• Perform daily resident/security checks of guests, rooms and exterior of building
• Handle general office duties: phones, filing, typing, record keeping, shift summaries
• Attend trainings and staff meetings as directed and participate in cleaning duties as needed
• Must stay on duty until a replacement arrives and perform other duties as assigned
