The Salvation Army Midland Division Harbor House Shelter in Columbia, Missouri, seeks a Shelter Director to coordinate and operate Harbor House programs, including grant writing, staffing, and fiscal management. The ideal candidate holds a BA/BS in a related field with several years of leadership in human services, strong budgeting, and governance experience.

Qualifications

• Requires a BA or BS in social work, psychology, or related field with four years’ experience in human service delivery, administration, or management.
• Two+ years of experience in substance use treatment or recovery programming or CRAADC Counselor I certification or above.
• Strong leadership, budgeting, and grant-writing capabilities.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication; ability to work with diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Foster a caring, loving, and supportive environment promoting growth and recovery for clients.
• Develop and oversee programming for clients on recovery topics, life skills, and housing maintenance.
• Oversee Family Shelter development and ensure quality programming and case management.
• Network with community organizations to expand Harbor House services and partnerships.
• Assist in budget development and monitor income and expenses against the budget.
