Job summary

Volunteers of America Colorado is seeking a Residential Advocate for the Southwest Safehouse to protect residents' emotional and physical well-being and provide crisis intervention. The role includes supervising volunteers, conducting intakes, and maintaining records.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and at least one year of human service experience; on-site scheduling includes evenings with some on-call duties. Benefits are provided and a hiring bonus applies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in a related area.
• One year of human service experience.
• Experience with crisis intervention and client support preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide protection of residents' emotional and physical well-being.
• Offer crisis intervention and counseling weekly with clients.
• Conduct primary intake interviews and document admissions.
• Maintain case notes and daily shift logs; prepare group session notes.
• Support supervision and training of volunteers and new staff.
• Represent the program in community outreach and tours.
