Job summary

Making Opportunity Count, Inc. is seeking a Shelter Case Manager in Massachusetts to provide comprehensive case management for families in shelter.

The role uses motivational interviewing to develop individualized rehousing plans with clear goals, steps, and targeted interventions to promote self-sufficiency and secure permanent housing. Cross-training in the Stabilization Program may occur to support operations and ensure continuity of client services.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in human services or related field.
• 1 year of experience providing case management services focused on pre-tenancy and tenancy-sustaining services.
• Must be empathetic to the needs of a diverse socio-economic population.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Establish monthly rehousing meetings.
• Provide notices of meetings per program rules.
• Review barriers to housing such as credit score and history of nonpayment.
• Document case management efforts and maintain participant files in a timely manner.
