Job summary

ServiceNet in Massachusetts is seeking a Shelter Counselor for a part-time role in Greenfield and Pittsfield. You will help create a warm, safe space for families working toward permanent housing.

You will support daily tasks, teach life skills, document progress, attend team meetings, and ensure shelter rules are followed. Bilingual candidates are encouraged; experience with low income groups or mental health/addiction contexts is helpful; paid orientation, flexible scheduling, and

Qualifications

• Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply.
• Experience with people living on a low income, or affected by mental health issues and/or addiction.
• Proficiency across verbal and written communication, collaboration, organization, and use of computer and technology.

Responsibilities

• Create a cozy, home-like environment where everyone feels cared for.
• Support families by assisting with everyday tasks, teaching life skills, and offering guidance.
• Write simple notes to track the progress of each family.
• Attend team meetings to share ideas and learn from others.
• Ensure shelter rules are followed to keep everyone safe and on track.
