Job summary

Southland Industries is seeking a qualified foreman to schedule, coordinate, supervise, and lead a small work crew on project sites in Texas. You will ensure safety, productivity, and on-time completion.

You will mentor apprentices, assign tasks, review plans, maintain timekeeping, and prepare reports, while upholding OSHA standards and quality requirements. This is a hands-on leadership role in a 100% employee-owned company.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent is required.
• OSHA-30 certification is required within six months from hire.
• 5+ years' experience as a qualified tradesperson.
• Employment is contingent upon active membership in the appropriate local trade union.
• Familiarity with OSHA safety regulations and company safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, coordinate, supervise, provide leadership, and ensure safety and productivity of a small work crew.
• Act as management liaison and/or designated client contact as needed.
• Facilitate a safe work culture and ensure adherence to safety standards.
• Conduct weekly toolbox talks and participate in safety investigations and reports.
• Assign crew tasks, coordinate on-the-job training, and mentor apprentices.
• Set and maintain work standards; promote teamwork and positive morale.
• Translate project plans into prioritized tasks and adjust schedules to meet production goals.
• Prepare reports, maintain logs, and ensure accurate daily timekeeping.
• Inspect completed work, ensure job specifications are followed, and resolve issues.
