Job summary

Southland Industries is seeking a hands-on Foreman to schedule and supervise a small work crew, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity on assigned projects.

The role requires strong leadership, OSHA-30 familiarity, and the ability to coordinate on-site activities, mentor apprentices, and communicate with management and clients. A union environment and local licensing considerations may apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required or preferred.
• OSHA-30 certification within six months of hire if not already certified.
• Texas Journeyman Plumber license may be required for field supervision.
• Active membership in the appropriate local trade union is a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, coordinate, supervise, and lead a small work crew.
• Ensure safety, productivity, and compliance with standards.
• Conduct toolbox talks and safety investigations as needed.
• Maintain crew documentation and timekeeping records.
• Coordinate on-the-job training and mentoring of apprentices.
• Verify tools, materials, and project plans are available and followed.
• Monitor progress toward production goals and resolve scheduling conflicts.
