Job summary

Southland Industries is hiring a Foreman to schedule, coordinate, and supervise a small work crew. You will lead safety efforts, ensure readiness and productivity, and act as a liaison with management and clients.

The role requires strong leadership and planning abilities, with an emphasis on safe, efficient execution of construction trades. You will conduct toolbox talks, mentor apprentices, and ensure daily THA compliance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience as a qualified tradesperson.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and company policies.
• Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Able to manage diverse teams and coordinate multiple trades.
• Proficient in routine administrative duties and reporting.
• Proficient with computers and basic software.
• Active membership in the local trade union (where applicable).

Responsibilities

• Schedule, coordinate, supervise, and lead a small work crew.
• Ensure safe working conditions and productivity on site.
• Conduct toolbox talks and safety investigations as needed.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
• Orient new crew members and assess competency levels.
• Assign tasks, manage on-the-job training, and mentor apprentices.
• Monitor production plans and adjust activities to meet goals.
• Identify shortages and coordinate with superiors to resolve.
• Prepare reports and maintain foreman’s log.
• Ensure THA is performed daily before tasks begin.
