Job summary

Southland Industries is seeking a Foreman – Mechanical (Sheet Metal) to lead a small crew in field mechanical and sheet metal work. You will schedule daily activities, provide hands-on leadership, and ensure safety, quality, and productivity.

You will coordinate with management and clients, mentor apprentices, and maintain daily timekeeping and reports. A strong candidate will have 5+ years as a tradesperson, OSHA-30, and a valid Texas Journeyman Plumber license if required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience as a qualified tradesperson.
• Familiarity with OSHA safety regulations and company policies.
• Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
• High school degree or equivalent.
• Active Texas Journeyman Plumber license may be required for field work.
• Membership in the local trade union is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a small crew in mechanical and sheet metal work.
• Schedule and coordinate daily activities to meet production goals.
• Ensure safety standards and quality on site.
• Mentor apprentices and coordinate with journeymen.
• Maintain foreman’s log and daily timekeeping records.
• Communicate with management, field teams, and clients to ensure smooth delivery.
