Job summary

Butler County in El Dorado, KS is hiring a Sewer Technician to perform routine and emergency maintenance of county sewer districts. You will inspect, repair, and log activities, with a county vehicle provided for after-hours callouts.

The role requires two years related experience or equivalent education, a valid CDL, and a Class I Wastewater Operator Certificate. Expect to work rotating on-call shifts and be part of a safety-conscious team.

Qualifications

• Two years related experience, High School Diploma or GED; or Associate’s degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid commercial driver's license; Class I Wastewater Operator Certificate preferred; subject to random drug/alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspection and maintenance of sewer facilities and pumps.
• Log activities, run preventative maintenance, and respond to alarms.
• Repair equipment, pumps, belts, and motors; operate and maintain tools.
• Take daily samples and deliver to lab for analysis as required.
• Read blueprints and electrical schematics; perform safe, compliant work.
• Work rotating on-call shifts and handle after-hours emergencies.
