Berkeley County Government is seeking a utility technician to install and repair pipes and meters in the wastewater collection system. The role involves reading meters, assisting CCTV crews, and locating inflow sources. You will work with tools and equipment, respond to inquiries, and participate in emergency repairs as needed.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, a valid SC driver's license, and some maintenance experience in utilities. On-call duties and safety testing may be required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Six (6) months of experience in general maintenance and/or construction in a utility environment preferred.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license for South Carolina with safe driving record.

Responsabilités

• Install and repair pipes, conduits, meters, hydrants and fittings in the wastewater collection system.
• Read, remove, replace, set or shut off meters.
• Assist in locating sources of inflow and infiltration into the sanitary system.
• Perform inspections on new plumbing installations for commercial builders.
• Maintain and operate flow monitoring equipment and CCTV-related tasks.
