The City of Hopewell is seeking a dedicated Sewer Maintenance Worker to respond to sewer stoppages on citizen properties and perform sewer line cleaning. You will assist the Utility Inspector, Public Works, plumbers, and contractors with locating lines, dye testing, smoke testing and CCTV inspections.

Primary duties include operating Vactor and Jet trucks, maintaining records in the GIS, and performing routine equipment maintenance.

Qualifikationen

• Must have 6 months experience in sewer-related position.
• Able to read sewer maps and GIS.
• CDL-B with Tank endorsement.
• VA DOT work zone traffic control certification within six months of hire.
• High school diploma preferred.
• Knowledge of traffic safety in public right-of-way.

Aufgaben

• Operate the Vactor and Jet trucks and equipment during sewer line cleaning, stoppages and backups.
• Maintain documentation records for line cleaning and sewer stoppages using the City GIS.
• Perform routine maintenance on Vactor and Jet trucks and assist with pump station maintenance.
• Smoke and dye testing sewer lines.
• Assist the Utility Inspector with CCTV work using crawler or push cameras.
