Job summary

City of Myrtle Beach seeks a Line Maintenance Technician to clean and maintain sewer and storm water lines and collection systems. The role involves confined space entries, smoke and dye testing, and routine inspections to diagnose and repair issues.

Responsibilities include operating a combination truck, performing pre- and post-trip checks, and maintaining safety procedures on job sites. Requires a high school diploma and CDL; tanker endorsement within 6 months is expected.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent; one (1) year of related experience in sewer and/or stormwater utility maintenance.
• CDL with tanker endorsement within six (6) months; certification for confined space entry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and maintains sewer and storm water collection systems; performs confined space entries in manholes and wet wells; performs smoke and dye testing as needed.
• Inspects and evaluates condition of systems; diagnoses problems; cleans manholes and lines.
• Operates a combination truck; conducts pre-trip and post-trip inspections; fuels and secures materials; travels to job sites.
