Job summary

City of Myrtle Beach is seeking a Crew Leader for Streets/Facilities to supervise and perform semi-skilled to skilled maintenance, including street, landscaping, and facility upkeep.

You will lead crews, plan assignments, ensure safety, and coordinate with departments on projects. Requires a high school diploma and 1 year of related experience; valid driver's license; CDL may be required. This is a full-time position with competitive city benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 1 year of related experience in facility, grounds, or street maintenance
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license; CDL may be required depending on assigned department
• Knowledge of customer service principles
• Knowledge of related safety procedures
• Ability to lead a team and supervise staff
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
• Ability to operate and maintain equipment used in street, grounds, and facility maintenance

Responsibilities

• Leads and oversees the work of an assigned crew; plans work assignments; trains crew members in all essential functions; and maintains a safe work environment for the crew
• Leads and performs street maintenance duties; patches holes, paves, and repairs sidewalks and drainage
• Leads landscaping duties; mows, plants, weeds, prunes, and maintains irrigation systems
• Conducts pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and coordinates equipment operation for projects
• Responds to complaints and queries related to maintenance and coordinates with supervisor and public
