Job summary

City of Myrtle Beach is seeking an Equipment Operator to maintain and repair City grounds, sewers, stormwater systems, streets, and to support solid waste collection. The role requires operating a range of light to medium equipment, performing inspections, and adhering to safety procedures.

Responsibilities include maintenance, landscaping, and assisting with special events, as well as basic reporting and documentation.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent; no experience required although some experience in equipment operations desired.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Operates equipment across golf course, solid waste, water/sewer, parks, stormwater, and streets.
• Follows safety procedures and uses PPE; directs traffic and places markers to ensure safety.
• Performs pre- and post-trip inspections and reports issues to appropriate personnel.
• Performs maintenance and landscaping duties; repairs sidewalks, curbs, and related tasks.
• Assists with special projects and seasonal work; installs/removes decorations and banners.
