Job summary

The City of Myrtle Beach is seeking a Maintenance Worker to perform unskilled to semi-skilled tasks across parks, streets, cemeteries, and facilities to keep City properties safe and well‑maintained. You will operate a City vehicle and assist with seasonal projects, debris removal, and basic building upkeep.

High school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license (CDL preferred) are required. Experience in landscaping or manual labor is a plus; we foster safety and teamwork in daily city

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Some experience in landscape maintenance or manual labor preferred.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL endorsement preferred or required by some tasks.

Responsibilities

• Performs a wide range of maintenance tasks across parks, streets, cemetery, convention center, and recreation areas.
• Operates a City vehicle; conducts pre/post-trip inspections and reports issues.
• Responds to complaints, coordinates with supervisor, and documents work orders.
• Maintains safety practices and uses equipment for grounds, roads, and facility upkeep.
