Job summary

Qualifications

• Two years of experience operating heavy construction and maintenance equipment
• Valid CDL at hire required
• Must meet city equivalency notes as applicable

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment safely on construction and maintenance projects (motor grader, backhoe, loader, etc.)
• Perform precision grading, surveying support, and related tasks
• Service, maintain, and adjust equipment; report major problems
• Plan, assign, and review work of trades workers and operators
• Use carpentry, masonry, and concrete finishing skills for new construction
• Operate and maintain a vactor truck; maintain storm drainage maps
• Clean storm drainpipes and catch basins; use hand tools as needed
• Observe traffic control and safety procedures at all times
• Prepare required reports and logs; be on-call 24 hours on rotation
