Job summary

City of Pasadena, TX is seeking a maintenance worker to support sewer lines and treatment facilities. The role involves manual tasks, excavation, repairs, and installation of barricades with hand tools. Teamwork and flexibility for after-hours callouts or shift work are required.

Candidates must hold a valid Texas driver9s license, be able to lift and work outdoors in all weather, and maintain required licenses and certifications as needed by the position.

Responsibilities

• Perform high level manual tasks in maintenance and construction of sanitary sewer lines and sewage plants.
• Excavate soil and perform sewer repairs and connections with hand tools.
• Repair, clean and maintain sanitary sewer lines.
• Assemble and disassemble barricades and shoring equipment.
• Work as part of a team and may be subject to after-hours call out.
• Shift work may be required.
• Maintain required licenses, certifications, clearances and job requirements.
• Follow City timekeeping and attendance policies.

Job description

Duties:

Performs high level of manual tasks involved in the maintenance and construction of sanitary sewer lines and sewage plants. Excavates soil and makes sanitary sewer repairs and connections with various hand tools. Repairs, cleans, and performs maintenance work on sanitary sewer lines. Assembles and disassembles barricades and shoring equipment. Must have the ability to work with co-workers as a team as instructed. May be subject to call out service after hours. Shift work may be required. Must be able to obtain and maintain, without interruption, all necessary licenses, certifications, clearances, and/or job requirements. Work the assigned schedule and comply with City timekeeping and attendance policy. Other duties as assigned.
