Job summary

Encore Technologies is seeking a knowledgeable ServiceNow ITAM Engineer to join our Asset Management team. You will drive software normalization, support a new validation process, and ensure new software meets standards by a target compliance date while validating grandfathered software.

You will design discovery normalization, manage software inventories in ServiceNow, and develop entitlement workflows. Strong ITIL knowledge and collaboration with internal/external teams are essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience) is preferred.
Proven experience in IT software asset management, including familiarity with software asset tracking software and procurement processes.
Strong experience with ServiceNow Software Asset Management (SAM).
Proven ability to manage software normalization and entitlement processes.
Familiarity with software discovery tools and data reconciliation practices.
Experience designing and implementing software validation or compliance processes.
Familiarity with ITIL and software licensing models.
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
Strong communication skills for collaboration with internal teams and external vendors.
Experience with IT compliance standards and regulations, including software licensing requirements.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

Discovery Model Normalization: Design and implement enterprise software normalization standards to improve data quality, automation, and compliance across the ServiceNow platform.
Software Model Management: Develop and maintain an inventory of approved software within ServiceNow and align models with discovery.
Software Entitlement Creation: Design, implement, and optimize enterprise software entitlement models and lifecycle governance strategies.
Software Validation Process Management: Collaborate on design and rollout of a new software validation process, including timelines and exception handling.
License Management: Analyze license utilization, develop optimization strategies, and recommend remediation actions to reduce licensing risk and cost.
Security and Access Control: Assist in implementing access controls and security measures for digital assets.
Training and Support: Provide training and support to staff involved in software asset management; act as SME for ServiceNow SAM implementations and enhancements.
Compliance: Ensure SAM practices comply with laws, regulations, and industry standards including environmental and safety regulations.
