Job summary

Marathon Petroleum's Platform Engineering team seeks a Platform Engineer to own the ServiceNow platform's governance, performance, and evolution. You will partner with product owners, architects, cybersecurity, and development teams to deliver scalable, secure, and supportable capabilities and ensure alignment with enterprise standards.

You will monitor infrastructure, analyze performance trends, tune configurations, design new platform capabilities, and lead complex platform and system design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT or related field; 2+ years of relevant experience preferred.
• Experience with ServiceNow platform integration design, development and support preferred.
• Strong understanding of ITSM, ITAM, ITOM, CMDB, CSDM, Discovery, APM, SPM, Now Assist and AI capabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitors infrastructure platforms and systems to identify performance issues or anomalies.
• Analyzes data, establishes baselines, and creates reports to identify trends and improvement areas.
• Collaborates with senior engineers to implement performance tuning strategies and optimize resources.
• Leads the design and configuration of complex platforms & systems following best practices.
• Maintains ongoing compliance with original design and configuration and corrects deviations.
