Job summary

Marathon Petroleum Corporation is seeking a Platform Engineer to own the engineering, governance, and evolution of the ServiceNow platform. You will partner with product owners, architects, cybersecurity, and dev teams to deliver scalable, secure ServiceNow capabilities and establish platform standards.

This role supports the design, configuration, and ongoing compliance of platform and system improvements, with a focus on performance, reliability, and modernization across the MPC ServiceNow

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field or equivalent experience preferred.
• 2+ years of relevant experience required.
• Experience with ServiceNow platform integration design, development and support preferred.
• Strong understanding of ServiceNow ITSM/ITAM/ITOM/CMDB/CSDM/Discovery/APM/SPM/Now Assist and AI capabilities preferred.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile and Release Management processes preferred.
• Experience partnering with integrated suppliers, service providers, business facing IT, and stakeholders to deliver solutions preferred.
• ServiceNow certifications (e.g. CSA, CAD, CIS, etc) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conducts regular monitoring of infrastructure platforms and systems to identify performance issues or anomalies.
• Analyzes data, establishes baselines, and creates reports to identify trends and areas of improvement.
• Leads design and configuration of complex platforms & systems.
• Ensures compliance with original design and configuration standards.
• Builds and deploys highly available and scalable infrastructure solutions.
• Documents support requests and troubleshooting steps; provides technical support to users.
