Job summary

Compunnel, Inc. is seeking a Solution Architect for ServiceNow IRM to lead GRC initiatives within a large enterprise environment in Chicago.

You will design and implement risk and compliance capabilities on the ServiceNow platform, balancing out-of-the-box solutions with targeted customizations. The role emphasizes hands-on engineering leadership, collaboration with global teams, and governance of data pipelines and architectures using Azure Cloud and NoSQL technologies.

Qualifications

• Deep ServiceNow IRM experience.
• GRC background.
• Experience implementing regulatory/compliance capabilities.
• Experience within large enterprise environments (financial institutions preferred).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline with at least ten years’ experience in systems architecture and development methodologies.
• At least 10 years of experience developing reusable services in an enterprise environment.
• Proven experience in engineering and software architecture design.
• Strong experience with building data pipelines & data processing architectures using Azure Cloud & NoSQL technologies.
• In-depth understanding of coding languages (Java, JavaScript, Python, etc).
• Sound knowledge of various operating systems and databases.
• Efficient communication skills.
• Strong organizational and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Design solutions within the ServiceNow IRM platform.
• Translate business requirements into technical architecture.
• Recommend out-of-the-box ServiceNow capabilities before pursuing customization.
• Participate in technical delivery when needed.
• Provide architectural guidance while remaining hands‑on enough to support engineering efforts.
• Collaborate with global engineering teams.
• Build and integrate information systems to meet the company’s needs.
• Assess the systems architecture currently in place and work with technical staff to recommend improvements.
• Resolve technical problems as they arise.
• Provide supervision and guidance to development teams.
• Continually research current and emerging technologies and propose changes where needed.
• Inform various stakeholders about any problems with the current technical solutions being implemented.
• Assess the business impact of certain technical choices.
• Provide updates to stakeholders on product development processes, costs, and budgets.
