Job summary

Compunnel, Inc. is seeking a Solution Architect for ServiceNow IRM to lead GRC initiatives within a large enterprise environment in Chicago.

You will design and implement risk and compliance capabilities on the ServiceNow platform, balancing out-of-the-box solutions with targeted customizations. The role emphasizes hands-on engineering leadership, collaboration with global teams, and governance of data pipelines and architectures using Azure Cloud and NoSQL technologies.

Qualifications

• Deep ServiceNow IRM experience.
• GRC background.
• Experience implementing regulatory/compliance capabilities.
• Experience within large enterprise environments (financial institutions preferred).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline with at least ten years’ experience in systems architecture and development methodologies.
• At least 10 years of experience developing reusable services in an enterprise environment.
• Proven experience in engineering and software architecture design.
• Strong experience with building data pipelines & data processing architectures using Azure Cloud & NoSQL technologies.
• In-depth understanding of coding languages (Java, JavaScript, Python, etc).
• Sound knowledge of various operating systems and databases.
• Efficient communication skills.
• Strong organizational and leadership skills.

This role supports the Financial and Non-Financial Risk Engineering organization. Primary responsibility is supporting the firm’s ServiceNow Integrated Risk Management (IRM) platform, specifically around Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC). The architect will support the Risk Compliance Enhancement (RCE) program, a regulatory-driven initiative. The goal is to consolidate GRC capabilities onto the ServiceNow IRM platform. The program has been underway for approximately 2–3 years. Major delivery began within the past year. Multiple future releases are planned throughout 2027.
